Tree planting - sustainable livelihood for women

The activity of "Tree planting - sustainable livelihood for women in Long Duc commune, Tra Vinh city" took place from April/May 2019 and was led by People's Committee of Long Duc commune. The target locations are: Long Dai Hamlet, Cong Thien Hung Hamlet and Sa Binh Hamlet. With funding from Textyle Asia Company and guided, supported and supervised activities by Aid for social protection program Foundation Vietnam (AFV) . Beneficiaries are 20 women, giving priority to women-headed households and ethnic women belonging to poor and near-poor households with land to plant coconut seedlings. The aim is for women to develop and increase their livelihood.

 

On the afternoon of May 14, 2019, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Loan – Vice Chair of SPD Tra Vinh City and Mr. Nguyen Nam Cuong - Vice Chairman of Long Duc Commune People's Committee handed over the coconut seedlings. to 20 households (10 trees per household). Speaking at the handover, representatives of households who received coconut seedlings said they were excited and committed to planting and caring for coconut seedlings.
