Our unique approach

Helping people claim their basic rights to achieve lasting change is at the centre of our approach. Survival isn’t enough. We believe that our approach to development is the most effective way to help women and girls transform their lives.

AFV works with many different partners, primarily including: the poor, the excluded and marginalized people who are suffering from social discrimination and poverty to fight for their rights.  We help people to build for themselves the most appropriate solutions for the region and the situation in which they live.

When we got to a region, we do extensive research to assess the conditions of poverty and priorities of local families. In this phase, we identify the community organizations that can become our partner, and together we develop a plan for a long-term work. Our work aims at training and raising the awareness of people, to create opportunities for income generation and to ensure their dignity. So we help them to help themselves. We do not deliver the basket of vegetables, we encourage the planting.

AFV GIVES HOPE TO MILLIONS OF PEOPLE

We believe that an end to poverty and injustice can only be achieved through the very same people living in poverty, as long as they unite together and address structural causes of poverty and injustice.

AFV takes a different approach to change injustice and suffering of the poor. We are committed to using human rights based approach (HRBA) that develops each person’s consciousness and ability to take action with others to change the life.

AFV IS ALWAYS A REPUTABLE PARTNER.

Our partnerships and alliances are important to our approach. We build long-term partnerships with community-based groups/organizations and their networks. Every campaign needs have enough time to spread theirs stable effects. Therefore, your supports as supporters or enduring partnerships play an important role helping AFV remain and accelerate our poverty programs with the attendance of communities.

AFV usually keep reports and results up-to-date. We bring true evidences which reveal how the poor or minorities escape their difficulties and ensure their rights.

AFV WORKS IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE COMMUNITY

AFV works with many different partners, primarily including: the poor, the excluded and marginalized people. Within these groups, we specifically engage with women, ethnic minority people and migrants.

Together we work with the poorest and most vulnerable people to have better food, shelter, work, basic health care and a voice in the decisions that affect their lives. Among them are poor children, women, land-lost and landless people, migrants, people from minorities, and other groups suffering from social discrimination and poverty.

The human rights- based approach (HRBA) defines all our work. We are committed to using HRBA that develops each person’s consciousness and ability to take action with others to change the life.

AFV EFFECTIVELY USES OF RESOURCES

Your money goes where it is needed, and to the people who need it most: children, women, migrants, land-lost and land-less, and people from ethnic minorities.

Together we work with the poorest and most vulnerable people to have better food, shelter, work, basic health care and a voice in the decisions that affect their lives. Among them are poor children, women, land-lost and landless people, migrants, people from minorities, and other groups suffering from social discrimination and poverty.

With a little support, communities can start to take control of the own lives: creating businesses, growing food, and changing attitudes, this has a lasting and life-changing effect. Children receive the training and education they need. And communities can use their new-found skills and confidence to make their voices heard by those in power.

AFV TAKES HOLISTIC APPROACHES

Our staff are on the ground experiencing poverty at first hand. We see day-to-day how poverty affects people’s lives, and are uniquely placed to give a voice to the women and children who suffer most. Hence, we set our priorities based on people’s needs and rights. We don’t impose solutions. We listen and then work with people to make sure their voice is heard and that they’re actively involved in solving the problems they face, so we can build change that lasts.

We respect for people, particularly poor and excluded people and their rights. We are concerned with not only programme achievements but also approaches to accomplish our missions. We encourage people to play an active role in the development process instead of staying passive beneficiaries.

AFV aims to be the companion of excluded communities, supporting them in building capacity so that they identify the issues and design relevant programmes and projects that bring lasting changes.
